When was the last time you did something to really celebrate you? Just for the fun of it? I remember when I was able to attend the Olympics in Beijing in 2008 and was surrounded by many industries that were really celebrating and having fun, even if it wasn’t for me. I missed that in automotive at that time. It was great to be reminded of how fun life can be when we celebrate. I have been lucky to have a big one only 2.5 years ago when I turned 50 and again last summer with an epic adventure in MT with my siblings that was a dream of mine. This weekend I had another great celebration, my first book, Purposeful Living: Wisdom for Coming of Age in Complex Times, prelaunch party at my home. It was recommended to have it at the local bookstore so it could be bigger and sell more books, but I wanted to have it at my home just for fun and to make it a real celebration. I loved working with my family and friends planning it, even when it looked like the the early copies of the book wouldn’t arrive in time (They got there with 3 hours to spare.) And we set it up to be fun, with live music, food, bar, and signings and readings. It was so much fun to see so many friends and I was deeply touched by the support. The most meaningful was the readings and the Q&A that followed. I felt very celebrated and loved and it was a ton of fun! Thank you so much to all that joined the celebration!
When was the last time you really celebrated? What can you do just for fun to celebrate you this weekend?
Have a fun one!
