Several things this week have me reflection on midlife transition. First, I flew with my youngest child, Kayli, to Scotland and got her set up at college and then left her there! I won’t see her until Christmas. The youngest! I am now back as an almost empty-nester, as my oldest is living his own life with busy job but still renting a room here for a few more months. Big mid-life transition! Second was “flow” reading an early draft of my friend Zana Goic Petricevic’s upcoming book, Leading on the Edge, which challenged me in many ways. The biggest being what I need to do to make sure I don’t die an unlived life. Third is launching Mid-Life Transition Mastery this month after 1 year of beta. My life is in transition and it is my mission to serve others that are have accomplished much but are still feeling empty, lost, sick, or frustrated, asking themselves, “Now what?” We are guiding them to living a life of no regrets, so they don’t die an unlived life.
I would much rather live a very uncomfortable life that I am called to live that a comfortable and safe one that I regret at the end. Wouldn’t you? What has been calling you? What is yours to do? What lights you up? What idea has been nudging you the last few years? Do it. That small quiet voice that asks you to step up and say a heart yes to your adventure, to your service, to share your gifts; listen to it! Been wanting to take that motorcycle ride through the Alps, start planning. Bean called to help children? volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club, church, or Scouts, or babysit the young kids next door with busy parents. Heard the call to teach but afraid to leave your corporate job? Start teaching an evening class. Still have the teaching call? Get your teaching certificate and adjust your finances and teach full time. You can always go back to corporate.
If you are literally sick and tired of the grind, feeling burned out, lack of passion, obligated, imprisoned, down, taken for granted, join us on the journey to Mid-Life Mastery. I have had all these questions and feelings and fears. I have thought all these thoughts and had these experiences. I pushed the pause button on life, quitting my job and taking time to learn from many others, and reflected on what it would mean to really live a life with no regrets in my second half. My health, energy, passion and purpose are back! I am in love with my life! And we now have a community to guide you on your own Mid-Life Mastery Journey.
Join us online on September 24th at 10 AM ET and take the next step to living without regrets, to loving your second half. I am thrilled to be on the adventure together.
Whatever else you are doing this weekend, pause and listen to the idea that has been there for a while. Plan the time for your motorcycle ride. Sign up for that music class. Set an appointment with your financial advisor to prepare for a career change. Register here for the Midlife Mastery Community. Find expertise and authentic connection to support you in hearing and answering that call. Whatever it is for you, take the first step and feel your energy rise. I look forward to it.
Have a great weekend!
